In class one day, Mr. Johnson pulled Johnny over to his desk and said, "Johnny I have a feeling that you have been cheating on our test."
一天在課堂上，約翰遜老師把約翰尼叫到了講臺(tái)前，說(shuō)：“約翰尼，我感覺(jué)你在這次測(cè)驗(yàn)中作弊了。”
Johhny was astounded and asked Mr. Johnson to prove it.
約翰尼吃了一驚，他要老師拿出證據(jù)來(lái)。
"Well," said Mr. Johnson, "I was looking over your test and the question was, 'Who was our first president?', and the little girl that sits next to you, Mary, put 'George Washington,' and so did you."
“這樣啊，”約翰遜老師說(shuō)，“我看了你的試卷，其中一個(gè)問(wèn)題是‘第一任總統(tǒng)是誰(shuí)？’，你的同桌瑪麗答‘喬治·華盛頓’，你也是這么寫(xiě)的。”
"So, everyone knows that he was the first president."
“那又怎么樣，誰(shuí)都知道他是第一任總統(tǒng)。”
"Well, just wait a minute," said Mr. Johnson. "The next question was, 'Who freed the slaves?' Mary put 'Abraham Lincoln' and so did you."
“等一下，”約翰遜老師接著說(shuō)，“下一個(gè)問(wèn)題是‘誰(shuí)解放了奴隸？’瑪麗答‘亞伯拉罕·林肯’，你也是這么寫(xiě)的。”
"Well, I read the history book and I remembered that," said Johnny.
“這能說(shuō)明什么，我讀了歷史書(shū)，我記得這個(gè)，”約翰尼說(shuō)。
"Wait, wait," said Mr. Johnson. "The next question was, 'Who was president during the Louisiana Purchase?' Mary put 'I don't know,' and you put, "Me neither.""
“等等，等等，”約翰遜老師又說(shuō)道，“再下一個(gè)問(wèn)題是‘路易斯安那購(gòu)置期間的總統(tǒng)是誰(shuí)？’，瑪麗答‘我不知道’，而你的答案是‘我也不知道’。”
