have it both ways

解詞釋義：

have it的意思是“取得優勢”，那么have it both ways的意思就是“兩方面取得優勢”，也就是“兩方面都討好”的意思，跟中文中的“腳踏兩只船”意思相近。

支持范例：

Eg. You can't have it both ways. She is either lying or she's not

你不能一時說東，一時說西。她要么在撒謊，要么沒撒謊。

Eg. You 'll have to decide whether you want to stay with your sister or you want to go on holiday; you can not have it both ways.

1. hold different ideas：持不同意見

Eg. If you hold different ideas, I am all ears.
