A plant has four main parts:
植物有四個主要部分：
flower ,stem ,leaf ,roots ,
花,莖,葉,根,
Flowers, leaves and stems grow above ground.
花，葉和莖長在地上。
Roots grow below ground.
根長在地下。
What do roots do?
根主要起什么作用？
Roots bring water from the ground to the plant.
根將水分從地下傳輸給植物。
What is the stem for?
莖呢？
The stem carries the water from the roots to the leaves and flowers.
莖將根內的水份傳輸給葉和花。
The stem holds the leaves and flowers in the sunlight.
莖在陽光下支撐著葉和花。
What are leaves for?
葉子呢？
Leaves make food for the plant.
葉子為植物制造食物。
Why do plants have flowers?
為什么植物有花？
Is it because flowers are beautiful?
是因為花漂亮嗎？
No! Plants have flowers because the flowers make seeds.
不！植物有花是因為花會產生種子。
New plants grow from seeds.
新的植物都是由種子成長的。
What parts do we eat?

People eat all parts of plants.

A carrot is a root.

We eat the leaves of cabbage.

The seeds of the rice plant feed billions of people.
