Lesson 7 Exploring with Picasso
與畢加索并肩探索
His mother said that the first word he uttered was "pencil".
據(jù)他母親講“鉛筆”是他會說的第一個詞，
One story tells that he stared to draw before he leard to say any words at all.
有一個故事說的是他還沒有學(xué)說話就開始畫畫了。
He was interested in drawing,painting,
當(dāng)他在西班牙還是個小男孩的時候，
and sculpturing from the time he was a small boy in Spain.
他就對素描、繪畫和雕塑產(chǎn)生了興趣。
Picasso was an inventor and explorer.
畢加索是一個發(fā)明家，也是一個探索者。
However,he didn’t invent machines or explore strange places.
可他并未發(fā)明任何機器。也沒有到任何奇異的地方探險。
Instead,he explored and experimented with art.
他是藝術(shù)領(lǐng)域的探索者和實驗者。
He was always able to work anywhere or anytime,day and night.
他總是可以不分晝夜地在任何時候、任何地點工作。
He carved a figure from the nearest stick of wood,painted with his fingers.made drawings with a rusty nail.
他用手邊的木棍雕塑，用手指作畫，用生銹的鐵釘素描，
and even made a bull’s head from the handlebars and seat of a bicycle.
他甚至用自行車的車把和車座做了一個牛頭。
Picasso painted Spanish fighting bulls,horse races and clowns.
畢加索描繪西班牙斗牛、賽馬和小丑。
He painted people and animals as they are.
他用真實的手法色勒人和動物。
He also invented a kind of art called cubism.which is made up of simple shapes like squares or cubes.
他還創(chuàng)造了一種叫作立體畫派的藝術(shù)，由正方形和立方全等簡單的形狀構(gòu)成。
If you look closely at the picture named Three Musicians,you’ll see not only shapes but also three men.
