"MASTER Horse, Master Horse," said Tirian as he hastily cut its traces, "how came thesealiens to enslave you? Is Narnia conquered? Has there been a battle?"	“馬兒師傅，馬兒師傅，”蒂蓮一邊匆匆忙忙地割斷馬身上的挽韁，一邊說道，“這些外國人是怎么來奴役你的？難道納尼亞被征服了？可曾打過一仗？”
"No, Sire," panted the horse, "Aslan is here. It is all by his orders. He has commanded-"	“不，陛下，”馬兒喘息著說道，“阿斯蘭在這兒。一切都是按照他的命令辦的。他曾經(jīng)吩咐——”
"'Ware danger, King," said Jewel. Tirian looked up and saw that Calormenes (mixed with afew Talking Beasts) were beginning to run towards them from every direction. The two deadmen had died without a cry and so it had taken a moment before the rest of the crowd knewwhat had happened. But now they did. Most of them had naked scimitars in their hands.	“我們處境危險，陸下。”珍寶說道。蒂蓮抬起頭來，看到卡樂門人(其中還夾雜著幾頭說人話的野獸)正開始從四面八方向他們跑來。兩個人一聲也沒叫喊就死了，所以一時之間其余的人不知道發(fā)生了什么事。但現(xiàn)在他們知道了。他們大部分人手中拿著出了鞘的彎刀。
"Quick. On my back," said Jewel.	“趕快。騎在我背上。”珍寶說道。
The King flung himself astride of his old friend who turned and galloped away. Hechanged direction twice or thrice as soon as they were out of sight of their enemies,crossed a stream, and shouted without slackening his pace, "Whither away, Sire? To CairParavel?"	國王飛身跨上他老朋友獨(dú)角獸的背脊，它轉(zhuǎn)過身子，疾馳而去。它改變方向兩三次，及至敵人看不見他們時，便立刻渡過了一條溪流，腳下的步子沒有松懈，口中大聲叫道，“陛下，跑到哪兒去？到凱爾帕拉維爾去嗎？”
"Hold hard, friend," said Tirian. "Let me off." He slid off the Unicorn's back and facedhim.	“朋友，你停下步來，”蒂蓮說道，“讓我下來。”他從獨(dú)角獸的背上滑了下來，面對著獨(dú)角獸。
"Jewel," said the King. "We have done a dreadful deed."	“珍寶啊，”國王說道，“我們干了一件可怕的事。”“我們都被痛苦地激怒了。”珍寶說。
"We were sorely provoked," said Jewel.	“然而，他們毫無武裝——我們也沒有向他們發(fā)出挑戰(zhàn)——卻人不知鬼不覺地向他們撲了上去——呸！珍寶，咱倆是殺人犯。我永遠(yuǎn)丟臉出丑了。”
"But to leap on them unawares - without defying them while they were unarmed - faugh! Weare two murderers, Jewel. I am dishonoured forever."	珍寶垂下了頭。它也感到羞愧。
Jewel drooped his head. He too was ashamed.	“還有，"國王說道，"那馬兒說是按照阿斯蘭的命令辦的。老鼠也這么說。他們都說阿斯蘭是在這兒。但這消息是否確實(shí)呢？”
"And then," said the King, "the Horse said it was by Aslan's orders. The Rat said thesame. They all say Aslan is here. How if it were true?"	“但是，陸下，阿斯蘭怎么會下令干如此可怕的事呢？”
"But, Sire, how could Aslan be commanding such dreadful things?"	“阿斯蘭并不是一頭馴服的獅子，”蒂蓮說道，“我們怎么會知道阿斯蘭會干什么呢？我們，是殺人犯啊。珍寶，我決意要回到那兒去。我要交出我的劍，把我自己也交到那些卡樂門人手里，并且要求他們把我?guī)У桨⑺固m面前。讓阿斯蘭公平地審判我。”
"He is not a tame lion," said Tirian. "How should we know what he would do? We, who aremurderers. Jewel, I will go back. I will give up my sword and put myself in the hands ofthese Calormenes and ask that they bring me before Aslan. Let him do justice on me."	“那么，你就會走向死亡了。”珍寶說。
"You will go to your death, then," said Jewel.	“如果阿斯蘭判我死刑，你認(rèn)為我會介意嗎？”國王說道，“那就微不足道了，壓根兒微不足道了。與其擔(dān)心害怕阿斯蘭已經(jīng)來了，但他又不像是我們所信仰所渴望的阿斯蘭，恐怕還是死掉倒要好得多。這就像有一天太陽升起來了，卻是個漆黑的太陽。”
"Do you think I care if Aslan dooms me to death?" said the King. "That would be nothing,nothing at all. Would it not be better to be dead than to have this horrible fear that Aslanhas come and is not like the Aslan we have believed in and longed for? It is as if the sunrose one day and were a black sun."
