Meaning: I worked hard to reach the least standards allowed by the course and to finish the homework on time.
Please note: "set by the course" in this sentence is a past participle phrase used as an attribute.
minimum: a. the least, or the smallest possible
He couldn't join the police because he was below the minimum height allowed by the rule. 他未能當(dāng)警察，因為他身高未達(dá)到最低規(guī)定要求。
The minimum passing mark is 40 out of 100. 這次考試的最低合格線是百分制的四十分。
