秘訣31 “清”與“濁”間的同化
當north, south, worth 三個詞變為形容詞時，這些詞原來詞尾的[W]因為受了后面元音的影響，就變成了濁音[T]：
north [nCrW] northern [ `nCrTLn]：
south [sBuW] southern [ `sQTLn]
worth [w*W] worthy [ `w*TI]
1．She has traveled in northern countries. 她曾游歷過北方諸國。
2．The southern half of the country is a desert. 這個國家的南半部是沙漠。
3．She says she helps only the worthy poor. 她說她只幫助那些值得她去幫助的窮人。
【不包括那些她認為好吃懶做等不配取得幫助的人】
4．This book is worthy of being read [to be read]. 這本書值得一讀。
