I live in a sub-tropical country and while it is lovely to feel warm all the year round and not to have to wrap up all the time or to demist one's car, there are other things that are not so good, such as hurricanes and tropical storms and insects. I think that the continental climate is ideal — warm in summer and cold in winter, with spring and autumn to add interest.
