Sam: Hi, you might serve me with the wrong dish. I didn't order these cooked chopped entrails at all.
山姆：你好，你好像給我上錯菜了。我根本就沒點這些雜碎。
Waiter: Oh, let me see your order list. Sir, I'm afraid you've ordered it. You see, sweetbreads. That's it.
服務生：哦，我來看看你的點菜單吧。先生，您好像確實點了這道菜。您看，雜碎（Sweetbreads），就是這個。
Sam: What, sweetbread is not bread?
山姆：什么？"Sweetbreads"不是面包嗎？
Waiter: Yes, sweetbreads serve throat, gullet, neck, thymus from lamb or calf.
服務生：對的，不是面包。雜碎（Sweetbreads）里面有牛羊的喉頭、食管、脖子，還有胸腺什么的。
Sam: But I can't understand why the name contains sweet and bread. It sounds like a dessert.
山姆：但是我不明白為什么"雜碎"這個詞是由"甜甜的"和"面包"兩個詞組合而成，好像是一款甜點啊。
Waiter: I think sweet is used perhaps because the thymus is sweet. Bread might come from old French with the meaning of meat, I guess.
服務生：我覺得吧，用"甜甜的"這個詞或許是因為胸腺的味道是甜的。而英語中"面包"這個詞恰好在古法語中的意思是肉。
Sam: Wow, sounds interesting. But could I have some French toast instead, as I'm a vegetarian.
山姆：哇塞，好有意思哦。但是，我可以換成法式煎吐司嗎？我是個素食主義者。
Waiter: Of course. Please put your number card on the table. I'll bring it to you when it's ready.
服務生：當然可以啦。把您的餐桌號放上來。做好了就給您送來。
Sam: Thanks a lot.
