首先，我們來細(xì)看Example One——Her daughter got the nod as Miss Hong Kong six years ago. 這句話是說：她女兒六年前當(dāng)選為香港小姐。表示“被選中作為（什么職位，榮譽(yù)稱號等）”，在get the nod后面用介詞as。句中是got the nod as Miss Hong Kong（被選中為香港小姐）。

接下來，我們來細(xì)看Example Two——Last year he got the nod to attend a conference of advanced workers with one voice. 這句話說：去年他被一致推選出席了先進(jìn)工作者會議。在這個(gè)句子中，我們注意三個(gè)要點(diǎn)。

第一個(gè)要點(diǎn)是表示“被選中去做某事”，使用動詞不定結(jié)構(gòu)，即：get the nod to do something。句中說到的是get the nod to attend a conference of advanced workers，to attend a conference of advanced workers是動詞不定式做目的狀語。

第二個(gè)要點(diǎn)一個(gè)過去分詞短語：advanced workers（先進(jìn)工作者）。Advanced是動詞advance的過去分詞形式，做定語修飾workers，放置于被修飾名詞workers的前面。

第三個(gè)要點(diǎn)是一個(gè)副詞短語：with one voice。With one voice的意思是“一致地，異口同聲地”。For another example：Everybody sang high praise for her devotion to the cause of education with one voice.（大家異口同聲地稱贊她獻(xiàn)身教育事業(yè)的精神。）
