Through events around the world, we are now marking 1,000 days to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The MDGs are the most successful global anti-poverty push in history. World poverty has been cut in half. More girls are in school. Child mortality has dropped. We are fighting killer diseases. The list goes on. But, too many women still die in childbirth, when we have the means to save them. Too many communities still lack access to sanitation. Too many families are still being left behind. We have 1,000 days to close the gaps -- 1,000 days to accelerate action.

　　在世界各地，我們正舉辦活動來迎接實(shí)現(xiàn)千年發(fā)展目標(biāo)1000天倒計(jì)時(shí)。千年發(fā)展目標(biāo)是有史以來最為成功的全球消除貧窮推進(jìn)項(xiàng)目。世界貧困人口已減少了一半，越來越多的女童步入校園，兒童死亡率有所下降，我們正與致命疾病抗?fàn)帲铱梢粤信e更多，然而，仍有太多的婦女在分娩中死亡，什么時(shí)候我們有辦法挽救她們的生命，太多的社區(qū)仍然缺乏衛(wèi)生設(shè)施，太多的家庭仍處于落后狀態(tài)，我們還有1000天來縮小這些差距，還有1000天來加快行動。

　　Here are four ways to step-up our efforts.

　　有四種方式向我們的目標(biāo)邁進(jìn)：

　　First, scale up success through strategic, targeted investments -- in health, education, energy and sanitation. Above all, by empowering women and girls who can boost results in all other areas.

　　首先，要爭取擴(kuò)大成功范圍，通過有針對性的戰(zhàn)略投資來完成，主要在健康、教育、能源和衛(wèi)生等領(lǐng)域，尤其是通過賦權(quán)婦女和女童以提高所有其他領(lǐng)域的表現(xiàn)。

　　Second, focus on the poorest and most vulnerable countries that are finding it most difficult to make progress despite their best efforts.

　　第二，著眼于最貧窮和最脆弱的國家，是那些最難取得進(jìn)展的國家，盡管已竭盡全力仍很貧窮的國家進(jìn)步。

　　Third, keep our fiscal promises. These are difficult budgetary times. But we cannot balance budgets on the backs of the most vulnerable.

　　第三，信守我們的財(cái)政承諾，即使在這預(yù)算緊缺時(shí)期，也不能通過這些國家來平衡我們的預(yù)算，因此加重最脆弱國家的負(fù)擔(dān)。

　　Fourth, let us re-energize the global movement from governments to the grassroots that has made such a difference.

　　第四，讓我們賦予這項(xiàng)全球運(yùn)動新活力，從政府到基層，一起來改變世界。

　　Action now will improve lives and add momentum as we look beyond 2015 to the challenges of sustainable development. The MDGs have helped unite, inspire and change the world. In the next 1,000 days, let us give 1,000 percent.

　　現(xiàn)在就采取行動將能改善生計(jì)，為實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)推波助瀾。當(dāng)我們放遠(yuǎn)視野超越2015年直面可持續(xù)發(fā)展的挑戰(zhàn)。千年發(fā)展目標(biāo)讓我們團(tuán)結(jié)起來，激勵并改變著這個(gè)世界。在未來1000天的日子里，讓我們1000%地全力以赴。
