英語是當(dāng)今世界應(yīng)用最廣泛的語言，為了加強(qiáng)與外部的交流與合作，學(xué)習(xí)國外先進(jìn)經(jīng)驗，我們需要培養(yǎng)大量熟悉和精通英語的人才。
English is the most widely used language in the world today. In order to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries and draw lessons from their advanced experience, we need to train a large number of people proficient in English.

但在全國政協(xié)十二屆一次會議討論會上，全國政協(xié)委員、中國社會科學(xué)院信息情報研究院院長張樹華認(rèn)為中國應(yīng)該制定科學(xué)的外語教育戰(zhàn)略。
At the discussion of the 1st Session of the National Committee of the CPPCC，as one of its members and President of Information Research Institute under Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhang Shuhua thought China should work out scientific strategies on foreign language education.

She said some educational departments and institutions mistook paying attention to English study for aim instead of method as is actually for meeting the reform and development of our country.

學(xué)生在學(xué)習(xí)英語的過程中深受其害，荒廢正常的學(xué)業(yè)，使整個中國的教育質(zhì)量遭到毀滅性打擊，漢語也遭遇前所未有的危機(jī)。
Learning English has done great harm to Chinese students who neglected their studies, inflicted a crushing blow to the improvement of China's education and precipitated our native language into an unprecedented crisis.
