Passage 1:
Australia is an exceptionally beautiful country. This is the world’s smallest continent and yet the largest island. Here the tourist will witness with admiration variety of astonishing environments, from tropical beaches to white snow-covered fields, from vast deserts to rain forests. //
The tourist will also admire a wide array of unique and intriguing animals and plants, and a sunny and comfortable climate, and meet an interesting, cosmopolitan and friendly people. From the tourist’s viewpoint, Australia is one of the world’s most attractive lands.
Passage 2:
The United States and China have a historic opportunity: There is much we can share. I think progress in these areas is particularly promising, that is, trade, technology, investment, and exchanges of scientific and managerial expertise. In a few short years, two-way trade has risen sharply. //
The United States is now China’s third largest trading partner. Our bilateral trade and economic cooperation show great promise for peace and progress in our histories, and I believe, together, we can and will make tomorrow a better day.
