為推動中意兩國工商界的交流與合作，中國商務部與意大利經濟發展部在習近平副主席訪問之際，共同主辦“中意工商晚宴”。首先，我代表中國商務部向承辦此次活動的中國機電產品進出口商會、意大利對外貿易委員會和意中基金會表示誠摯的感謝，同時對意大利官方代表和企業家朋友們放棄假期出席晚宴表示衷心的感謝和熱烈的歡迎。
In order to promote exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of China and Italy, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development co-sponsored the China-Italy Business Dinner for Vice President Xi Jinping’s visit to Italy. First, may I express, on behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, sincere gratitude to the organizers, namely, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, Italian Foreign Trade Commission and Italy-China Foundation， as well as my heartfelt thanks and a warm welcome to Italian officials and entrepreneurs who gave up holidays to attend the dinner.

中意建交41年來，在兩國政府的積極推動和企業界的共同努力下，雙邊貿易高速增長。今年1-4月的雙邊貿易同比增長36.6%。雙向投資快速發展，今年前4個月意對華投資同比增長42%，中國對意投資則比去年全年的總額增長一倍。兩國經濟技術合作不斷加強，發展態勢令人高興。
Since China and Italy established diplomatic ties 41 years ago, bilateral trade has been growing rapidly thanks to the joint efforts of the governments and business circles of the two countries. In the first four months of 2011, bilateral trade was up 36.6% year-on-year. Bilateral investment has been developing rapidly, with investment from Italy to China soaring by 42% year-on-year, while investment from China to Italy doubled the total volume of 2010. Economic and technological cooperation between the two countries has strengthened, and kept a strong momentum.

中意兩國經貿合作互補性強、基礎牢固、潛力巨大。去年10月，兩國總理提出到2015年雙邊貿易額達到800億美元的新目標。中國愿繼續擴大從意大利進口有競爭力的產品，促進兩國貿易平衡。中國還將進一步鼓勵企業到意大利投資；同時我們也歡迎意大利企業家來華投資；中國希望與意大利開展節能環保等高新技術領域的合作。
China and Italy are highly complementary in trade and economic cooperation, with solid foundation and great potential. In October 2010, the Premiers of the two countries set a new target of bringing bilateral trade volume to US$ 80 billion in 2015. China will continue to expand imports of competitive products from Italy, and promote balanced trade between the two countries. China will also encourage enterprises to invest in Italy, and welcome Italian entrepreneurs to invest in China. China hopes to carry out cooperation with Italy in such high-tech sectors as energy conservation and environmental protection.

我相信，只要兩國政府和企業界共同努力，不斷拓展合作領域、創新合作方式，實現優勢互補、互利共贏，為兩國的經濟社會發展做出新的貢獻，造福兩國人民。
I believe that with the joint efforts of governments and business communities of both countries, we will expand and innovate cooperation, draw upon each other’s advantages, realize mutual benefit and win-win, make new contribution to the economic and social development and bring benefit to the peoples of both countries.
