Thank you for your company. Here we go!
Topic: Some people think that the media should not report every detail of crimes. To what extend do you agree?
Never in history have we witnessed such tremendous changes in our society. Arguably, in order to boost sales of magazines and newspapers and increase audience ratings in TV programs, authors as well as TV directors are employed to report detailed descriptions of crimes to the public at large. While some people argue that thoes reports should be regulated and forbidden to publish such information, I am more of the belief that it can be acceptable to put such reports on the mass media. |
To begin with, undoubtedly, the original purpose of detailes criminal reports is to give people alarms and eduacte them how to prevent potantial criminal acts and protect themselves when they are in danger of being threatened by offenders. For instance, watching and reading such reports, audiences can be informed how burglars invade their homes to steal their valaubles, and thus they will remember to lock doors and windows properly when they are not at homes. |
Moreover, unlike other entertainment reports which mainly give us gossips and celebrities' scandals, reading and watching reports with details description of crimes allow us to make our leisure time more meaningful. In fact, when we read detective stories, more often than not, we need to conjure up some pictures in our mind to catch up the chain of authors' thoughts. This, in turn, can facilitate us to develop our imagination and mental abilities. |
In short, personally I believe benefits we can receive by publishing such detailed crime reports are numerous and we should not be worried about dire consequences resulted from revealing such information. After all, if all members of this society as a whole can take proactive preventions, no one would risk their liberites to commit wrongdoings. |
