A father found
Mark met his father for the first time at thecentennialcelebration of thecathedral'sconstruction. Mark wascateringfor thecelebrity-filledceremonywhen he heard acausticvoice. There, standing only three meters away was a man with acatchingyoung woman. He was talking on hiscellularphone about delivering somecertificateas soon as possible.
"No, we need it now. How can wecelebratewithout the main award? Yes. I know the Bishop has beencensuredofficially, but this event is not about him. I run the biggestcementcompany in Germany... no, not aceramiccompany, you idiot! ... and I am the presiding president of thecentralcommittee. You get that certificate here now, or you willceaseto have your job. Do you understand? Don't make this acatastropheor I'll make your life hell!"
Mark looked in amazement. He knew that this was his father based on what his mother had told him. But Mark knew that he should proceed with caution. His father was in a whole other category of people. Mark's mother was just a worker as was he. His father might not even remember her!
But Mark was not socautious. He approached the man, said who he was and waited for his father's response. His father stared in surprise and then burst out in tears. He wrapped his arms around Mark and said that he had been looking for him and his mother for years. He had even searched everycensus, all to no avail. Now they were reunited.
The catching young woman smiled as well. His father introduced her and said, "This is your half sister. Welcome to a new family, young man!"

在大教堂建成一百周年的慶祝活動上，馬克第一次見到了他的父親。當時，馬克正在為名流云集的慶典提供食物，忽然他聽到了尖利刺人的聲音。那邊，就在離他只有三米遠的地方，站著一個男人，身邊還有個迷人的年輕女人。男人正對著蜂窩式移動電話講話，說是要盡快送個什么證書。
“不，我們現在就要。沒有主要獎品，我們怎么慶祝?是的，我知道主教受到了官方指責，但這個活動不是為他舉辦的。我在德國經營最大的水泥公司......不，不是陶瓷制品公司，你這個白癡!......我可是中央委員會主持工作的主席。你現在就把證書給我送過來，要不你就會停職了。明白嗎?你別給我捅婁子，否則我讓你吃不了兜著走!”
馬克驚奇地看著這一切。根據母親對他講過的一切，他知道那個男人就是他的父親。但馬克知道，自己必須小心行事。他父親完全屬于另一類人。母親和他一樣都是工人。父親也許根本就不記得她啦!
但是馬克還是不夠謹慎。他走近那個男人，亮明了自己的身份，等待著對方的反應。他父親驚奇地盯著他，然后便淚如泉涌。他伸出雙手抱住馬克，說多年來他一直在尋找他們母子倆，甚至還查了每一次人口普查資料，結果都沒有奏效。現在他們終于團圓了。
那個漂亮的年輕女人也笑了，父親介紹說：“這是你同父異母的妹妹。小伙子，歡迎來到你的新家。”
