International brands join list of bacteria-tainted ice creams

　　Mister Donut, an American donut chain, and Baskin Robbins, a popular international chain of ice cream parlors, said yesterday that they have taken some of their ice-cream products off the shelves after a quality inspection found excessive levels of bacteria in them。

　　Three other blacklisted companies, Dairy Queen, Donut King and Cold Stone, however, said their products were safe。

　　Mister Donut Shanghai Co Ltd said it has suspended sales of its vanilla flavor ice cream after receiving the test results from Shanghai's consumer protection commission。

　　"Mister Donut has double checked the cleaning and disinfection process of its stores and will not resell the ice cream until the company can make sure there is no problem in the operation process," it said in a statement。

　　The donut chain has more than 20 stores in the city。

　　Baskin Robbins has taken the cheese-taste ice cream off the shelves and enhanced its sterilization process after the check, Shanghai Songqing Catering Management Co Ltd, which operates Baskin Robbins stores in the city, said in a statement yesterday。

　　The company has taken measures such as disinfecting kitchenware (knives, cups and stainless steel scoops) more frequently to reduce the possibility of bacterial infection。

　　DQ, Donut King and Cold Stone said their ice-cream products had passed third-party tests on many occasions, with test reports attached to their statements yesterday。

　　Shanghai Cold Stone Co Ltd said its original flavor ice cream, which was listed as substandard by the commission, passed an inspection by a third party but has still asked its stores to oversee the temperature of ice cream more strictly and step up disinfection。

　　DQ and Donut King made similar announcements。

　　Ice creams of these popular brands were found to contain excessive bacteria, some at an alarming level, the consumer protection commission said on Wednesday. The amount of bacterial colonies found in Cold Stone's original flavor ice cream reached 32,000 CFU (colony-forming units) per milliliter, compared with the national limit of 25,000 per ml, the commission said。

　　"It is so frightening to learn that these popular brands are not hygienic. I may have to quit eating ice cream for some time," said Una Yu, who works at the Expo Museum and has often bought ice creams from these brand outlets。

　　冰雪皇后(DQ)、酷圣石(COLD STONE)、多樂星(DOUNT KING)、美仕多(Mister Donut)……近日，市消保委公布的冰淇淋比較試驗結果顯示，多個知名品牌的冰淇淋產品抽檢細菌超標，其中DQ冰淇淋大腸菌群超10倍。事件經報道后立刻引來社會關注。昨日，多家涉事冰淇淋企業發出聲明，事后進行了嚴格自查、設備整改，以及暫停銷售問題產品。市消保委希望本市食品行業經營者能加強對食品安全管控，維護消費者的合法權益。

　　經營DQ的上海適達餐飲管理有限公司表示，6月25日冰雪皇后的單店單杯產品在比較試驗中菌落總數合格、大腸菌群超標，此檢測不涉及其他門店及其他產品。事后該公司進行了嚴格自查，并經過數次第三方權威機構檢測，結果均合格。另外，該公司上海地區僅今年上半年即接受政府食監部門和權威第三方SGS共幾十次檢查，結果均合格。

　　上海酷圣石冰淇淋有限公司聲明，該公司從三家門店抽取原味冰淇淋樣品送到第三方權威檢測機構(上海譜尼測試技術有限公司)，并依照冰淇淋國家標準所要求的檢測項目及標準進行全項目檢測。2012年8月22日得到測試結果，三家門市所送樣品測試指標全部合格。2012年8月24日消保委再次對另一家同類型店進行抽檢，該公司工作人員于8月28日前往詢問結果，此次質量測試結果合格。其他幾家公司也稱，自查發現相關產品均合格。

　　昨日下午4時許，早報記者來到上海適達餐飲管理有限公司徐家匯路店，這里的“冰雪皇后(DQ)”暴風雪白杯仍在正常銷售中。記者看到店里的顧客相當多，并沒有因為此次冰淇淋大腸菌群超標事件受到影響。而統一多拿滋(上海)食品有限責任公司美羅城店內的顧客卻寥寥無幾，“美仕多”香草冰淇淋已全無蹤影。店里的銷售人員告訴記者，在“美仕多”冰淇淋被爆出細菌超標后，公司已立刻下架、停止銷售。

　　市消保委表示，針對本次冰淇淋比較試驗發現的問題，已經約談了相關企業，進行勸喻并督促其整改。約談后相關企業認真查找問題，并采取了加強員工培訓，改進操作流程，強化設備消毒等積極措施加以整改。

　　截至昨日下午，酷圣石、多樂星、冰雪皇后等企業向市消保委提交了整改檢測合格的報告，統一多拿滋(美仕多)暫停銷售問題產品。市消保委希望本市食品行業經營者能加強對食品安全管控，維護消費者的合法權益。
