Once upon a time, there were three Billy Goats Gruff.
從前，有三只山羊，名叫嘎啦。
There was a little Billy Goat Gruff, a middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff, and a great big Billy Goat Gruff.
一只小山羊，一只中型個頭山羊，還有一只大山羊。
One day in spring, the big Billy Goat Gruff said, the snow has gone now, and the grass on the hillside is sweet and green.
有一年的春天，大山羊說冬天走了，現在山上的草又甜又綠。
The middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff said, we can all go across the bridge to eat the sweet green grass.
中型山羊說我們可以穿過橋去吃草。
The little Billy Goat Gruff came to the bridge first……
小山羊首先來到了橋邊。
But under that bridge lived a mean old troll.
橋底下住著一只可怕的山怪。
“Who’s that coming over my bridge?” roared the troll.
山怪咆哮道，誰來了？
“It’s me,” said the little Billy Goat Gruff.
小山羊說，是我。
“I’m going to eat the sweet green grass on the hill.”
我要去山上去吃草。
“Oh, no you are not,” roared the troll, “I’m coming to gobble you up.”
山怪咆哮道，我將把你吃掉。
“No! No!” said the little Billy Goat Gruff. “Don’t eat me! I’m too little. My big brother is coming soon. You can eat him!”
小山羊說，不，別吃我，我太小了，我的大哥馬上要來，你可以吃他。
“Very well. Be off with you, then!” roared the troll.
山怪咆哮道，很好，你可以走了。
So the little Billy Goat Gruff ran over the bridge.
小山羊走過了橋。
Soon the middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff came to the bridge.
中型山羊來到了橋邊。
“Who’s that coming over my bridge?”roared the troll
誰來了？
“It’s me,” said the middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff, “I’m going to eat the sweet green grass on the hill.”
中型山羊說，是我，我要去山上吃草。
“Oh, no you are not!” roared the troll. “I’m coming to gobble you up.”
山怪咆哮道，不，我要把你吃掉。
“No! No!” said the middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff. “Don’t eat me! I’m too little. My big brother is coming soon. You can eat him!”
中型山羊說，不，別吃我，我太小了，我的大哥馬上要來，你可以吃他。
“Very well. Be off with you, then!” roared the troll.
山怪咆哮道，很好，你可以走了。
So the middle-sized Billy Goat Gruff ran over the bridge.
中型山羊穿過了橋。
Then the great big Billy Goat Gruff came to the bridge.
大山羊來了。
“Who’s that coming over my bridge?” roared the troll.
山怪咆哮道，誰來了？
“It’s me,” said the great big Billy Goat Gruff,
大山羊說，是我。
“I’m coming to gobble you up.” roared the troll.
山怪咆哮道，我將把你吃掉。
“Oh, no you are not!” shouted the great big Billy Goat Gruff.
大山羊說，你不會的。
Then the great big Billy Goat Gruff put his head down, and he ran at the troll.
大山羊把頭低下，沖山怪跑去。
He butted him with his horns. He butted that mean old troll off the bridge, and down into the water.
他用羊角頂他，他將山怪頂下了橋，山怪掉進了河里。
And the three Billy Goat Gruff never saw the mean old troll again.
三只山羊再也沒有見過山怪。
