probe n.探針；探測儀 vi.探索；找尋 vt.探測

[記]pro往前；-be存在（human being,人類）；往前導找存在的事物，是在探索、找尋一個東西；要去探索一些細微、遙遠的東西，需要探針、探測儀的幫助。

[搭]probe into 探索，找尋

[例]The explorers are probing into the remains of primitives in this region.探險隊員正在找尋這個地區(qū)原始人的遺跡。

probable a.很有可能的 n.可能的人選

[記]prob-探索；able可能的。只要往前去探索，一切都是很有可能的。它表示比possible可能性更高，是八九成的可能。

[變]probability n.可能性；可能的事物；概率論

[例]It is probable the economy will recover soon.經濟極有可能很快就復蘇了。

file n.文件；文件夾；檔案 vt.把……歸檔

[記]他發(fā)給我(f-i)了（le）一個文件(file），我要把它歸檔。

[搭]a file of correspondence 信件的文件夾

[例]The contract has been filed.合同已經歸檔了。

document n.文件;公文 vt.記錄

[記]拼寫像“多苦悶他”(do-cu-men-t)。文件（docu-ment）太多，苦悶了他。

[串]文件部記錄了很多事情。

[注]用Word保存的“.doc”，也就是“文件”document就是這個詞的縮寫喔！

[例]The photographer spent many years in documenting the lives of the peasants.攝影師花了多年時間來記錄農民的生活。

prohibit v.禁止

[記]pro-向前；hibit習慣，habit的元音好基友變化。太超前的習慣，比如思思曾經在課上跳艷舞，就經常被沒見過世面的人要求禁止（pro-hibit）

[搭]prohibit sth.禁止某事 prohibit sb. from doing 禁止某人做某事

[變]prohibition n.禁止；禁令

[例]The new regulations prohibit smoking in public places such as restaurants, hotels,and subway, but not the offic.新的條例嚴禁在公共場所吸煙，比如餐館、酒店和地鐵等，但不包括辦公室。

forbid v.禁止；阻礙

[記]音似“佛鄙的”，佛（for-）很鄙（bi-）視的(d)事情就是被禁止的。

[串]禁止你做某事就是阻礙你去做它。

[注]過去式：forbade;過去分詞：forbidden

[搭]the Forbidden City 紫禁城 forbid sb. from doing禁止某人做某事

[例]The court ruled that the suspect was forbidden from going abroad.法院裁定那個嫌疑犯禁止出國。

pronounce n.發(fā)音 v．宣布

[根]-onunce指“說”，音像“囔死(noun-ce)”，嘟囔得讓人煩死了，就是在不斷說。

[記]pro-往前；nounce說。往前說，就是在發(fā)音；往前正式說，就是在宣布。

[變]pronunciation n.發(fā)音（注意原來noun-里的o沒有了哦！有的時候詞形變化太長時有些字母會脫落，這里的o“哦！”的一聲，就被擠掉了）

[例]In Hunan, it is difficult for many locals to pronounce "I" and "n" clearly.在湖南，很多本土人的L和N都是發(fā)不太清楚的。

prompt vt.促使 a．立刻的；迅速的

[記]往前(pro-)猛撲他（m-p-t)，是一個迅速（prompt）的動作，這會促使他立刻躲開。

[變]promptly ad.立刻地；迅速地

[近]immediate a.立刻的

[例]The devastation of the eco-balance in that area prompted the local government to effect a series of restraints.當地生態(tài)平衡的破壞促使政府實旋一系列的管控措施。

prose n.散文

[記]撲(p)玫瑰（rose），這一定是散文里才有的矯情的文藝橋段。

[例]His prose is always filled with a trace of depression.他的散文中總是有悲傷的痕跡。

prosper vi.繁榮

[記]向前(pro)的SS(s)得到了全部(per)，肯定是找到了繁榮（prosper）的地方。

[另]pro-向前；sper似“春天”spring。前面就要到春天了，萬物復蘇盡繁榮。

[變]prosperity n.繁榮（-ity是名詞后綴) prosperous a.繁榮的（-ous表示“很”）

[近]flourish v.繁榮；茂盛

[例]America and Americans were prosperous beyond the dreams of the Europeans and Asians whose economies the war had destroyed.美國和美國人享受著經濟己經被戰(zhàn)爭摧毀了的亞洲人和歐洲人做夢都沒法想象的繁榮。
