[根]-cise作為詞根是“切”的意思。讀音似“塞死”。闌尾被塞死了，要切掉。它的變形是-cide,比如decide,往下切，表示“下決心”。決心練武林秘籍，是要往下切的。
[記]pre-在前面；-cise切。能在眾人前面切菜的大廚，都是刀法很精確的人，每片黃瓜、肉都切得很均勻。

[注]-ic結尾的詞，大家可能認為是形容詞。它偶爾表示人，讀音可想成“一個客人（-i-c）”。一個批評別人的人，是批評家、評論家。
