在四六級考試中有這樣一個題型：它出現在閱讀題第一部分，分值不大，卻成為我們往后繼續做題不可逾越的溝壑，它就是帶方框的選擇題--選詞填空。
　　我們來一起看看這個題型：選詞填空。這種題型的特點是給你一篇大約300詞左右的文章，里面挖了10個空，給出15個備選單詞，從中挑出10個符合原文的單詞。這種題的做題方法在沖刺班中是重點講解的部分，以這篇文章為例：
　　第一步：看看填空處左邊是否有特殊符號，比如：a, an, the, 介詞，形容詞等等，如果有就不能選動詞。如果填空處左邊是情態動詞的話就必須選動詞原形。換句話說，需要掌握最基本的語法知識來大致確認該空的詞性。
　　第二步：結合上下文，選出最終單詞。
　　看一下40題：40前面是an，后面是relationship所以能很快確定下來應當選個形容詞，選哪個形容詞需要看看上下文，這句話說的是給讀者足夠的時間去和作者建立一種____關系，兩者____到一種長期、熱情的對話當中，就像人們談戀愛一樣。根據前后意思，如果像戀愛的話就得是親密關系，所以40題選I; 那么兩者要怎么到一種對話當中呢？根據所給單詞，只有一個比較符合，就是engaged, 并且41題后面還有一個介詞in, 更加確信應當是engaged in"參與"。
　　有的時候固定搭配也能幫助解題，我還想在說說第44題，observing young people's ______ to digital devices. 年輕人____數字設備。
　　先看一個例句：some girl's attachment to her boyfriends, 一些女孩兒依戀于他們的男朋友。
　　所以這道題根據加粗的部分的提示，應當選attachment.
　　To understand why we should be concerned about how young people read, it helps to know something about the way the ability to read evolved.
