這次四級快速閱讀主題是：在職場交往中了解和尊重文化差異。選自08年2月24日的California Job Journal中的文章。秉承了四六級閱讀大多選自英美報刊的考法。總體來說難度適中，對于考生來說最大的難度來自瀏覽和查找。08年12月的快速閱讀也有同樣的問題， 瀏覽難度很大。

　　難度與解題：

　　這次快速閱讀雖然設了小標題，但是只有四個，對考生瀏覽查找的幫助并不大。題目中雖然也有大寫人名，可是大致定位到原文的某個部分，但是要想真正的做對題目，找到合適的字句，對考生來說還是有難度。

　　第一道題可由人名Tiffany定位至原文第一段。由原文中the candidate never made direct eye contact. 判斷正確答案為A) He just wouldn’t look her in the eye. 這道題難度不大，大多數考生應該能做得出

　　第二道題目題干中的stem from對許多考生來說可能是生詞，stem from的意思是“來自于”其實這里考察的是Tiffany錯誤判斷的原因。這道題目定位很難，因為考生可能會根據題干中的misjudgement或stem from來搜索原文，但是原文中都沒有出現這兩個詞。只能由意思查找到原文的第三段：the candidates’ different behavior was simply a cultural misunderstanding. 判斷正確答案為C) cultural ignorance

　　看到第三道題目許多考生就開始往第一個小標題下面查找，但是第三道題其實仍然在第一個小標題的上面。由essential定位到五段：it is becoming essential to expand our understanding of others and to reexamine some of our false assumption. 正確答案為C) Increasing understanding of people of other cultures。

　　第四題由Mindsets LLC很容易地定位到第一個小標題下第一段第二行My company, Mindsets LLC, helps organizations and individuals see their own blind spots. A real estate recruiter we worked with illustrates the positive difference such training can make. 這道題目定位并不難，但是做出題目就比較難。很多考生可能會搞不懂Mindsets LLC是什么公司，由后面的trainning一詞可以判斷正確答案為B)A personnel trainning company. 很多考生可能會根據原文選擇A) real estate agency或C) A cultural exchange organizaiton。

　　第五題由Dale定位至第二個小標題下面第二行：Through one of the sessions, I discovered my personal bias. 正確答案為D) he must get rid of his gender bias。

　　第六題的定位又出現了較大的難度，因為第二個小標題下通篇都在講Dale, 都在講workshop，答案沒有明確的出處，正確答案在第二個小標題下最后一段：Dale credits the workshop, “because it helped me make decisions based on fairness。” 正確答案為C) It helped him make fair decisions。

　　第七題由Chinese-American一詞很容易定位到第二個小標題下第二段，由turning in requests early with the proper dates可以判斷正確答案為A) He told him to get the dates right。

　　第七題做出來第八題也基本可以做出：填入的詞匯為embarrassed。

　　第九題又出現定位困難，答案在第四個小標題下面的第一段最后一行：she was able to understand how important inclusiveness was to customer service. 估計許多考生會出現定位困難。

　　第十題難度也不小。可以由stereotypes定位至最后一個小標題下第二段Diversity is about coming together and take advantage of our differences and similarities. 空格處填differences and similarities. 這里take advantage of和benefit from同義。

　　考生準備借鑒

　　這次快速閱讀對以后的考生有很強的借鑒意義。由這兩年的文章可以看到，總體來說，快速閱讀的趨勢是：瀏覽難度增大，考生將很難通過題干中的原詞來搜索到答案信息，這樣對考生同義替換的能力增加，許多時候要靠自己真正對原文的理解，我們在課堂上有很詳細的講解。
