2008年5月12日下午14時28分，四川省汶川縣發生7.8級地震，現已造成上萬傷亡。突如其來的災難給災區人民帶來了極大的痛苦. 作為一名留學生，我們遠在他鄉但心不曾遠離我們的祖國.我們身處千里之外，能夠做的也許不多，但還是一些事是我們能夠也應該做到的：

首先，捐款可以，但是一定要切合自身的能力，要以保證自己的生活為前提，如果因為過多捐款或額外的打工導致自己生活和學習受到影響便是本末倒置，是不值得提倡的。

第二，全世界還沒有哪一個國家能夠準確及時預測地震，所以不要去指責我們的專家，現在是我們最應該團結的時候，我們應該相信我們的政府，現在我們的子弟兵，醫務人員，新聞工作者正奮斗在最前線，我們應該做他們最堅強的后盾。

第三，作為一個留學生，我們應該時刻記住我們自己的身份，我們是中國人，我們的一言一行代表了我們國家的形象，對于那些侮辱我們國家榮譽的言論和做法，我們我們應該做的是爭取主動，準確的表達出現實，冷靜的進行反駁，過激的言行只會讓他們更加覺得國人沒有素質。

最后也是最重要的一點：每個在自己的崗位上做好自己份內的事也是對災區的一種貢獻。作為留學生，我們出國的目的是為了將來報效祖國，我們最重要的任務是學習，面臨如此災難，我們應該化悲痛為力量，更加努力的學習，將來發展祖國科技，強盛祖國的經濟。
