Abroad
How could any English person want to live abroad? Foreigners can’t help living because they were born there.
英國人怎么會想住在國外呢？外國人沒辦法才住在那兒是因為他們出生在那兒。
注：驕傲的英國人。

An ambassador[大使] is an honest man sent to lie abroad for the good of his country.
大使是為了國家的利益被派往國外說謊的老實人。
注：大使必須對祖國老實，在外交場合下為了祖國的利益說謊是必然的。

I dislike feeling at home when I’m abroad.
當我在國外時，我不喜歡在家的感覺。
注：feel at home：隨意。你在國外到別人家做客，主人說，“Please feel at home”，意思是讓你隨意，象在自己家一樣，你就可以這樣說，意思是我好不容易從家里出來了，我不喜歡在家的感覺。

When I am abroad I always make it a rule never to criticize or attack the Government of my country. I make up for lost time when I come home.
當我在國外的時候我定了一條規(guī)則決不批評或攻擊我的國家政府。我回國后我要把損失的時間奪回來。
注：一個在美國生活多年的人回到中國后經(jīng)常批評政府，他這么解釋他的行為。
