Boris Johnson will be Britain's next prime minister after winning the race to be the new Conservative leader. The former mayor of London beat rival Jeremy Hunt with 66 per cent of the vote in a ballot of party members, with the result announced at a party meeting in London. Mr Johnson is inheriting a political crisis from Theresa May but has promised to deliver on three priorities.
"Deliver Brexit, unite the country and defeat Jeremy Corbyn are what we are going to do."
Canadian police say two missing teenagers are now suspects in the murders of an Australian and his American girlfriend in British Columbia. Police say Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are also suspects in the case of another man found dead nearby in the north of the state. Twenty-three-year-old Lucas Fowler and 24-year-old Chynna Deese were shot dead last week on the Alaska Highway. Police say the two suspects have been spotted in the state of Saskatchewan.
The three celebrity judges on Masterchef have featured in their last ever episode of the reality TV show. 22 year old Larissa Takchi took out the top prize. But just hours before the season finale, Network 10 announced George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan would be leaving the show because of a pay dispute. This comes after Calombaris admitted to underpaying employees at his restaurants by nearly eight million dollars.
