"Beidou highly accurate orientation and measurement technology", part of China's indigenous positioning system, has been used in training for the parade in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Major General Wang Shun told a press conference that to make the training more scientific and rational, parade units have been equipped with Beidou's automatic time service system.
Wang, who is deputy chief of staff of the Beijing Military Area Command and deputy commander of the parade, said the application of electronic parade sand modeling and simulation and emulation systems have greatly improved the efficiency of the training.

Chinese sci-fi bestseller "The Three-Body Problem" has won the Hugo Award for Best Novel, sending ripples of excitement across China's Internet and the sci-fi community.
The author Liu Cixin became the first Asian writer to win the Hugo Award, deemed as the highest honor for science fiction works along with the Nebula Awards.
The series portrays the centuries of clashes between earthlings and a civilization living in a three-sun system.
In an interview with the Xinhua News Agency, Liu said he was very happy about the accolade but will treat the award with a humble attitude and won't be overwhelmed.
Liu said the accolade would boost the export of Chinese sci-fi works to the United States and help Americans better understand Chinese science fiction, but he refrained from overestimating its boost on China's sci-fi writing.
Liu said science fiction writing across the world is on a decline because technology is losing its mystery, while mystery is an important backbone of sci-fi composition.
Science fiction remains a small literary genre in China despite people's love for new-tech gadgets like the Apple Watch and Hollywood sci-fi films. But enthusiasm has been fanned up by a number of pieces of good news in recent years, including the announcement that the film adaption of "The Three-Body Problem" has completed filming and will hit screens next year.
