It may mean quizzing the speaker for additional information or for clarification - it is always better to ask than to continue regardless and get things wrong它可能意味著為了進一步的信息和說明去詢問說話的人——問總比不顧情況的繼續并且把事情辦錯的好。
The most common bad habit we have is to start thinking of what we are going to say about the subject long before the other speaker has finished。 這里的before the other speaker has finished就是others are still speaking, focus on your response就是start thinking of what we are going to say about the subject。
Too often we accuse others of not listening, pretending that we ourselves are faultless, yet in our hearts we know that many of the mistakes we make come about because we haven't listened carefully enough。
Equally importantly you should put yourself in the other person's place, both intellectually and emotionally。 這里的put yourself in other person’s place就是seeing things from the speaker’s perspective。
It's helpful to remember that the ways people move and position themselves while they are speaking can reveal a great deal about what they are saying。
答案是B段的這么一句:if you allow your mind to wander onto something else, even for a few minutes, you'll miss what the speaker is saying如果你讓自己走神了,哪怕是僅有的幾分鐘,你也將錯過別人所說的話。allow your mind wander onto something else也就是think about a different issue.
In fact it is often worth explaining the main idea of what you have just been told before going on to make your own points. explaining the main idea of what you have just been told也就是hearing their own views summarised。do not mind也就是nobody is offended by this。
