Meera wore a long sharp dagger,
梅拉有一把長而鋒利的青銅短刀，
but her favorite way to fight was with a slender three-pronged frog spear in one hand and a woven net in the other.
可她喜歡一手拿著細長的三叉捕蛙矛，一手拿著編織精巧的索網作戰。
“Who’s hungry?”
“有誰餓了嗎？”
she asked, holding up her catch: two small silvery trout and six fat green frogs.
她邊問，邊舉起她的捕獲：兩尾銀色的小鱒魚和六只肥青蛙。
“I am,” said Bran.
“我，”布蘭說。
But not for frogs.
但他不想吃青蛙。
Back at Winterfell before all the bad things had happened,

the Walders used to say that eating frogs would turn your teeth green and make moss grow under your arms.

“We’ll just have to feed you, then.

It was hard to sulk with Meera.

She was much more cheerful than her brother, and always seemed to know how to make him smile.

Nothing ever scared her or made her angry.

Well, except Jojen, sometimes … Jojen Reed could scare most anyone.

He dressed all in green, his eyes were murky as moss, and he had green dreams.

Jojen sent Hodor out for wood and built them a small fire while Bran and Meera were cleaning the fish and frogs.
玖健讓阿多出去找木柴，趁布蘭和梅拉清洗鱒魚和青蛙的當口，升起一小堆火。
They used Meera’s helm for a cooking pot,
他們用梅拉的大鐵盔當鍋，
chopping up the catch into little cubes and tossing in some water and some wild onions Hodor had found to make a froggy stew.
將獵物切成小丁，再加入水和阿多找到的野生洋蔥。
It wasn’t as good as deer, but it wasn’t bad either, Bran decided as he ate.
這鍋燉青蛙雖不若鹿肉好吃，卻也不錯，布蘭邊吃邊下結論。
“Thank you, Meera,” he said.
“謝謝你，”他說，
“My lady.”
“梅拉小姐。”
“You are most welcome, Your Grace.”
“樂意為您效勞，王子殿下。”
“Come the morrow,” Jojen announced, “we had best move on.”
“明天出發，”玖健宣布，“繼續上路?！?/p>
Bran could see Meera tense.
布蘭看出梅拉的緊張。
“Have you had a green dream?”
“你又做了綠色之夢？”
“No,” he admitted.
“沒有，”他承認。
“Why leave, then?” his sister demanded.
“那為何急著離開？”他姐姐質問，
“Tumbledown Tower’s a good place for us.
“‘搖墜塔’是個好地方。
No villages near, the woods are full of game, there’s fish and frogs in the streams and lakes … and who is ever going to find us here?”
附近沒有村莊，林中全是獵物，溪流湖泊中則有魚和青蛙……誰會上這兒來找我們呢？”
“This is not the place we are meant to be.”
“這里不是我們的目的地。”
“It is safe, though.”
“但這里很安全?！?/p>
“It seems safe, I know,” said Jojen,
“我明白，這里‘似乎’很安全，”玖健說，
“but for how long?
“但能維持多久？
There was a battle at Winterfell, we saw the dead.
臨冬城打了一場仗，死人我們都瞧見了。
Battles mean wars.
打仗意味著戰爭。
If some army should take us unawares …”
如果有軍隊不知不覺地靠近……”
“It might be Robb’s army,” said Bran.
“也許那正是羅柏的軍隊，”布蘭道，
“Robb will come back from the south soon, I know he will.
“我哥很快會從南方回來，我知道的。
He’ll come back with all his banners and chase the ironmen away.”
他會帶著所有部隊回來，趕走鐵民?！?/p>
“Your maester said naught of Robb when he lay dying,” Jojen reminded him.
“你家學士臨死前沒提到羅柏，”玖健提醒他。
“Ironmen on the Stony Shore, he said, and, east, the Bastard of Bolton.

That’s well and good, but the Wall is a very long way and Bran has no legs but Hodor.
主意雖好，但路途遙遠，布蘭又沒有腿，只有阿多。
If we were mounted …”

“If we were eagles we might fly,” said Jojen sharply,
“假如我們是老鷹，還可以飛呢，”玖健尖刻地道，
“but we have no wings, no more than we have horses.”
“事實是，我們沒有翅膀，正如我們沒有馬?！?/p>
“There are horses to be had,” said Meera.
“馬找得到，”梅拉說，
“Even in the deep of the wolfswood there are foresters, crofters, hunters.
“狼林深處也有林務官、農人和獵人。
Some will have horses.”
有些會有馬的。”
“And if they do, should we steal them?
“就算他們有，又怎么辦？
Are we thieves?
去偷嗎？當竊賊？
The last thing we need is men hunting us.”

“We could buy them,” she said.

“Trade for them.”

A crippled boy with a direwolf, a simpleminded giant, and two crannogmen a thousand leagues from the Neck.

Jojen went to the fire to prod the embers with a stick.
玖健走到火堆邊，拿棍子捅捅余燼。
“Somewhere to the north, the three-eyed crow awaits us.
“在北方，三眼烏鴉正等著我們。
Bran has need of a teacher wiser than me.”
布蘭需要更賢明的老師。”
