Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air.

想象下,人生就好比是你在玩游戲時(shí)當(dāng)空飄起的的五個(gè)球兒.

You name them: work, family, health, friends, and spirit, and you're keeping all of them in the air.

它們依次叫做:工作、家庭、健康、友誼、心靈，你把它們都放飛在空中。

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls--family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

很快地，你就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)“工作”是個(gè)彈力球兒。就算你松開手不去管它，它還會(huì)是會(huì)再次跳起來。但是其他的那四個(gè)球兒——家庭、健康、友誼、和心靈是玻璃般制成的。如果你丟下它們中的任何一個(gè)，它注定就會(huì)劃傷了、有擦痕了、被弄壞了，甚至裂成碎片了。不可能再完好如初了。因此，你必須了解這一點(diǎn)并為掌握它們之間的分配與平衡而努力。

怎樣做到這一點(diǎn)呢？

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

不要總拿自己與別人比從而貶低自身的價(jià)值。正因我們彼此的差異不同，我們才會(huì)各有千秋。

Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important.

Only you know what is best for you.

別人認(rèn)為的重要，并不能作為你確定目標(biāo)的根據(jù)。只有你自己知道，對(duì)你而言什么是最好的。

Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would cling to your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

與你內(nèi)心最貼近的東西，切莫等閑視之。要像堅(jiān)守生命一樣堅(jiān)守住它們，因?yàn)槭ニ鼈儯罹蜁?huì)毫無意義。

Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.

不要耽于過去或未來，從而讓生命從指間悄悄溜走。一次只活一天，活在今日，你就充實(shí)地活過生命中的每一天。

Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

如果你還可以付出，就不要輕言放棄。在你停止努力那一刻之前，什么都沒有真正結(jié)束。

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us each together.

別害怕承認(rèn)自己不完美，正因?yàn)槲覀兌疾煌昝溃覀儾艜?huì)彼此需要。

Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

別害怕遇到風(fēng)險(xiǎn)，那是我們學(xué)會(huì)勇敢的機(jī)會(huì)。

Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

別說真愛難求，而將愛拒之門于生活之外。獲得愛的捷徑是給予愛，失去愛的捷徑是扼住愛，而守住愛的捷徑是給愛插上翅膀。

Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you are going.

不要一生奔忙，匆匆而過，以至于忘了自己從何而來，往何而去。

Don't forget that a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

不要忘了每個(gè)人最強(qiáng)的感情需求就是別人的認(rèn)同和支持。與人交談或者安排時(shí)間時(shí)要多多用心。因?yàn)椤耙谎约瘸觯嗰R難追”。人生不是一場(chǎng)競(jìng)賽，而是一次旅途，好好享受你路上的每一處風(fēng)景吧。

Yesterday is a history, tomorrow is a mystery, only today is a gift, that

is why we call it present.

昨天屬于歷史，明天是未知的謎，而今天是賜予我們的禮物：所以我們把“今天”稱之為present。
