The rapid spread of the novel coronavirus has sparked fears of a global outbreak, which is why Wuhan and some of its neighbors have been put into lockdown.

The move, unprecedented in modern times, speaks volumes about the gravity of the situation and the seriousness with which the government is taking the public health threat. This was undoubtedly a difficult decision to make, as it directly affects the lives of the millions of residents in the cities.
這一現(xiàn)代史上前所未有的舉措充分說明了當(dāng)前事態(tài)的嚴(yán)峻性，以及政府對這一公共健康威脅的重視程度；這無疑是一項艱難的決定，因為它將直接影響到這些城市里數(shù)百萬居民的生活。

But it will be conducive to coordinating regional and nationwide efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and ensure all infected people are properly treated and those that have come into close contact with them are traced, checked and isolated if necessary.
