Massive Starfish Airport Opens in Beijing
北京大型海星形機場開始運行
A huge new international airport officially opened to the public in Beijing this week. Beijing Daxing International, the city’s second major airport, was designed in the shape of a starfish. It was designed this way to save time for travellers who need to get from one area of the airport to another. The multimillion dollar airport has many high-tech features, including facial recognition for security. By 2020, China will likely pass the US as the world’s largest air travel market. The grand opening of the airport coincides with the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China on October 1.
