這是個專業的問題,但Dom以入門級同學可以聽懂的方式解釋如下:
Whether it's weight loss or weight gain, it's all about calories.
If you are losing weight, it's because you have something we call 'calorie deficit'.

Whether it's A or B, it's all about...就是我們常說的不管A還是B,都是由什么決定的。

Dom 進一步解釋:
If you take in more calories than you burn, then you put on weight; if you take in less calories than you burn, you lose weight.
也就是說,攝入卡路里-燃燒卡路里決定了你會不會胖。攝入卡路里>燃燒卡路里,情況不妙;攝入卡路里<燃燒卡路里,瘦瘦瘦,所以健身更容易得到這個負數嘛。
當然,也不能認為健身就是唯一變瘦的因素,因為攝入卡路里這個事情不好控制,關鍵在于吃。
