They were halfway towards the castle when Harry, glancing to his left,
他們向著城堡走到一半路的時候，哈利向左邊一看，
saw something that made his heart turn over — a pair of eyes, gleaming out of the darkness.
看見了讓他心頭一緊的東西——一雙眼睛，在黑暗中發著光。
Harry stopped dead, his heart banging against his ribs.
哈利停下來一動不動，心兒狂跳起來。
'What's the matter?' said Ron. Harry pointed. Ron pulled out his wand and muttered, 'Lumos!'
“怎么啦？”羅恩問。哈利一指。羅恩拿出魔杖咕噥道：“熒光閃爍！”
A beam of light fell across the grass, hit the bottom of a tree and illuminated its branches;
一道光線落到草地上，照到了一棵樹的根部，照亮了樹枝。
there, crouching amongst the budding leaves, was Crookshanks.
蜷伏在快要發芽的葉子中間的是克魯克山。
'Get out of it!' Ron roared, and he stooped down and seized a stone lying on the grass,
“滾開！”羅恩吼道，彎腰抓起草地上的一塊石頭，
but before he could do anything else, Crookshanks had vanished with one swish of his long ginger tail.
但在他還沒來得及有什么舉動以前，克魯克山的姜黃色長尾巴一閃就消失了。
'See?' Ron said furiously, chucking the stone down again.
“看見啦？”羅恩狂怒著說，把那塊石頭又放下了。
'She's still letting him wander about wherever he wants — probably washing down Scabbers with a couple of birds now ...'
“她仍舊讓它到處亂逛——現在它很可能再吃兩只鳥幫著把斑斑咽下去……”
Harry didn't say anything. He took a deep breath as relief seeped through him;
哈利什么也沒有說，他深深吸口氣，感到渾身一陣輕松：
he had been sure for a moment that those eyes had belonged to the Grim.
剛才有一會兒他滿以為那是不祥的眼睛。
They set off for the castle once more.
他們又向城堡走去。
Slightly ashamed of his moment of panic, Harry didn't say anything to Ron,
哈利對剛才的驚慌稍稍有點兒不好意思，但他沒有對羅恩說什么，
nor did he look left or right until they had reached the well lit Entrance Hall.
在他們走到燈火通明的城堡以前，哈利也不再左顧右盼了。
