According to CNN on Wednesday, Pope Francis added his voice to those criticizing the Trump administration zero tolerance policy that's resulted in the separation of families at the Mexican border.

Francis said that he supported the statements made by U.S. Catholic Bishops who called the separation of children from their parents immoral and contrary to our Catholic values.

In an interview with Reuters, Francis said "I am on the side of the Bishops' Conference. It's not easy, but populism is not the solution."
