原味人文風情：So, I'm at the airport, and they've got this deal for five donuts for five dollars, which is an awesome deal because it's pretty much the same price as buying three donuts, anyway, so it doesn't matter. And I set my stuff down, and I pick up the paper, and I start reading the paper. And this guy sits down across from me. And so I, you know, look over the paper, and he kinda gives me a bit of a smile, and I give him a bit of a nod, and I go back to reading the business section.
我人在機場，店家舉辦了一個甜甜圈五個五塊錢的活動，還真劃算，因為這樣幾乎和買三個的錢一樣，很劃算。我把東西放好，然后拿起報紙開始讀。接著有個男人坐到我對面。于是我越過報紙看他，他對我微笑了一下，我就對他點點頭，然后繼續(xù)讀財經(jīng)新聞。
A little while later, I hear this rustling on the table, and I'm like... I look over, and the guy has got his hand in the bag of donuts. Okay, that's a bit weird, but it doesn't really matter. The guy looks like he's homeless. He probably needs it more than I do. And I've still got four donuts anyways, and I'm not gonna eat all four donuts, so what do I care? So I reach in the bag, and I grab a donut, and I start eating it, and I go back to reading the paper.
過了一會兒，我聽到桌上傳來一陣窸窸窣窣的聲音，我就... 我看過去，那男人已經(jīng)把手伸進裝甜甜圈的袋子里了。嗯，有點兒奇怪，不過其實也沒什么。那家伙看起來似乎是游民。他應(yīng)該比我還需要甜甜圈。反正我還有四個甜甜圈，而且又不會把四個全吃完，所以有什么好在意的？于是我把手伸到袋子里，拿了一個甜甜圈開始吃，然后就又回去看報紙了。
So, I'm just getting into the social pages, and I hear this rustling on the table again. And I look over, and the guy's got his hand in the bag of donuts, again! He takes a bite, and I'm like, What the crap?! Now I'm getting a bit angry, but the precedent has been set, and so I don't feel like I can say anything. But I reach into the bag a bit more aggressively, I take a bite, and I just shake my head like, Whatever.
在我剛看到社會版時，我聽到桌上又傳來窸窸窣窣的聲音。我看過去，那老家伙又把手伸進甜甜圈袋里!他咬了一口，我心想，搞屁啊？!現(xiàn)在我有點兒不爽了，不過之前都給他吃了，所以現(xiàn)在覺得好像不能說他什么。但我有點兒挑釁地伸手到袋子里，咬了一口甜甜圈，然后用一種“隨便你”的態(tài)度搖搖頭。
So, a few minutes have gone by, and there's this call on the loudspeaker for the next departure,and the guy gets up, and he starts gathering up all his stuff. And he gets to the end of the table, and he stops. And I see him out of the corner of my eye, and he reaches into the bag, and he pulls out the last donut. And I'm like, Seriously And he looks at me, he breaks it in two, and he hands it to me. I reach out, and I take this half, and I'm in total disbelief. And he kinda nods at me, and he walks off.
幾分鐘過去，擴音器里播出下班起飛航班的消息，那家伙站起來，開始收拾他的東西。他走到桌尾，然后停了下來。我用眼角余光看他，他把手伸到袋子里，拿出最后一個甜甜圈。我心想，有沒有搞錯？他看著我，把甜甜圈分成兩半，然后分一半給我。我伸出手去拿這一半甜甜圈，整個難以置信。他對我稍稍點點頭就走了。
So, while I'm sitting here pondering the absurdity of what's just happened, I hear the call for my flight. And so I get up, and I grab my bag, and I grab my jacket. And under my jacket is my bag of donuts! Not only was I eating that guy's donuts the whole time and he didn't say anything, he took out his last donut, and he broke it in half and gave it to me.
當我坐在那兒想剛剛到底發(fā)生了什么怪事時，我聽見我班機的廣播。于是我站起身，拿了我的包包、抓起我的外套。結(jié)果在我外套底下居然是我的那袋甜甜圈!我一直吃那家伙的甜甜圈，然而他半句話也沒說，還拿出最后一個甜甜圈，破成兩半分給我。
