My love is strengthen'd, though more weak in seeming;

I love not less, though less the show appear:

Our love was new and then but in the spring

When I was wont to greet it with my lays,
我總是唱著歌兒去迎接愛(ài)的來(lái)臨，
As Philomel in summer's front doth sing
有如夜鶯婉轉(zhuǎn)鳴嘀于初夏，
And stops her pipe in growth of riper days:
要到夏末之時(shí)才停止歌吟。
Not that the summer is less pleasant now
不是說(shuō)此刻的夏季不如當(dāng)年愜意，
Than when her mournful hymns did hush the night,
那時(shí)，他那哀傷之調(diào)曾使萬(wàn)籟無(wú)聲。
But that wild music burthens every bough
我是說(shuō)而今百鳥(niǎo)狂噪孤枝欲墜，
And sweets grown common lose their dear delight.
曲兒太多太俗，必失寵于心庭。
Therefore like her I sometime hold my tongue,
因此，我學(xué)夜鶯，偶爾也緊閉雙唇，
Because I would not dull you with my song.
以免我用過(guò)多的曲兒使你煩心。
