What skills do parents want their kids to know in America?

We need to learn to build a fire and boil water. At least, where I live. A lot of the skills that we acquire come from simple things like camping and fishing.
我們至少要學(xué)會生火和燒水。有許多技能我們是從露營和釣魚的經(jīng)驗中習(xí)得的。

In Australia, there’s every dangerous animal from venomous snakes and spiders to deadly sharks and jellyfish. What about America?

America has its fair share of dangerous animals as well. We’ve got the black widow spider, that’ll kill you. Bears, mountain lions. So many! But keeping smart and knowing what your doing will keep you safe.

So what should a person do in an encounter with one of these animals?

If a bear wants to eat you, NEVER RUN! even up a tree! They’re great climbers! Just play dead. If that doesn’t work, go for its eyes.
如果一只熊想要吃了你，千萬別跑，也不要爬樹！它們都是爬樹的老手。裝死是最好的選擇，如果沒用的話，戳它的眼睛。

Survival programs are really a hit, even Obama appeared on one. Do you like these shows?
最近，野外生存類的節(jié)目真的很火。連奧馬巴都上了一期節(jié)目，你喜歡這種類型的節(jié)目嗎？

There’s only one that I really like. It’s Survivor Man. I love this one because it’s as real as it gets.
除了《幸存者》別的我都不喜歡，因為這檔節(jié)目特別真實。
