Apple Pay Rolls Out In US
Apple has rolled out a new mobile payment service known as Apple Pay. The service is now available in the US with the new iPhone 6, and can be used to make in-store purchases at certain establishments that have signed on to Apple’s Network. Contactless readers have been installed at about 200,0000 locations, including McDonald’s and Walt Disney World. The new Apple phone is locked with Touch ID, so that a stolen phone cannot be used to make purchases. Users do not need to open their phone or an app to use Apple Pay. They simply hold their phone up to a reader while touching the screen. While Apple feels this will be a game changer for the payment industry, the tech giant admits there is a long way to go.
