At the start of Chinese New Year, a crowded market district in Hong Kong erupted when police tried to shut down popular food hawkers. Bottles were thrown; more than 90 people were reportedly injured, including police officers; warning shots were fired; and 61 were arrested. The disturbance was the most serious since the giant (and peaceful) pro-democracy protests in 2014.
