Today is St. Patrick's Day.
今天是圣帕特里克節(jié)。
Today, people around the world remember the story of Patrick as a young boy.
今天，世界各地的人都會回憶帕特里克小時候的故事。
Pirates attacked his father's home.
海盜攻擊了他父親的家，
They took Patrick to Ireland.
然后把帕特里克擄到愛爾蘭去，
They made him work for them.
強(qiáng)迫他為他們工作。
A few years later, Patrick ran away.
幾年后，帕特里克逃了出來。
Later, he became a missionary.
后來，他成為傳教士，
Then he went back to Ireland.
然后回到了愛爾蘭宣教。

In Ireland, people don't work on St. Patrick's Day.
在愛爾蘭，眾人在圣帕特里克節(jié)不會工作，
They don't go to school either.
也不會上學(xué)。
Americans also celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
美國人也慶祝圣帕特里克節(jié)。
People eat Irish food on St. Patrick's Day.
大家在圣帕特里克節(jié)上都吃愛爾蘭菜肴，
People also wear green clothes.
并且穿上綠色衣服。
Green is the color of Ireland.
綠色是愛爾蘭的代表色，
Don't forget to wear it.
別忘了穿上綠色服裝。
If you don't wear green, someone might pinch you!
你如果不穿綠色，別人可能會捏你喔！
Some cities have big parades on St. Patrick's Day.
有些城市會在圣帕特里克節(jié)舉行盛大游行。
New York City has the biggest parade.
紐約市的游行規(guī)模最大，
It has about 200,000 people in it!
約有二十萬人參加！
Chicago also has a big parade.
芝加哥也會舉行一場大游行，
But they have another special custom, too.
不過，他們還有另一項特殊的習(xí)俗。
They make the Chicago River green!
他們會把芝加哥河染成綠色！
