D: Hi guys, since last time we talked about places you could visit in the UK. This time we thought it might be nice to help you feel comfortable when sorting out your hotel for your stay.

C:上次我們推薦了一些英國該去的美景地，那這次我們就要來幫助你怎樣順利的解決酒店的問題。

D: These days we often book hotel rooms online, but if you prefer we’d like to help you feel confident ringing the hotel to book a room too. And in many small towns it may be the only way to book a hotel.

C:現在呢我們都習慣了在線預訂酒店，但是你也可以通過打酒店的電話來預訂房間，因為在很多英國的小鎮上很多酒店是沒有網上預訂服務的，你只能通過電話預約的形式，所以技多不壓身，我們這期節目也許會在不久的將來幫到你哦。

D: So the first phrase we’d like to practice with you is: “Hi I’d like to make a reservation please for October the 10th please.”

C:所以第一個有用的句子我們可以一起來練習一下。

“Hi I’d like to make a reservation please for October the 10th ”please ”

您好。我想預訂10月10號的房間

D: That’s right, then they will most likely ask you “For how many nights?” Or “How long would you like to stay?”

C:對方可能會回復你。

要住多少晚？你要住多久？

For how many nights Or How long would you like to stay

D: For this example let’s say: “I’d like to stay for 3 nights please.” Notice we use “stay”for hotels. Many of my students just directly translate as “live” but we can’t use that for staying at a hotel.

C:我想住3個晚上。 在這里我們要注意一點，需要用stay 表示住，不可以說live 很多中國的學生可能會慣性思維的用live這次單詞。但這是不對的哦

D: Then they’d probably ask you: “What type of room would you like?” or “How many people will be staying?”

C: 接著他們會問你，

“What type of room would you like?”你想要什么房型？“How many people will be staying?”你有幾個人要??？

D: Here let’s simply say: “It will just be me & my wife. We’d like a double room please.”Notice here we could also ask for a single room, a twin room, or a suite.

C: 你可以說：只有我和妻子一起，我們要一個雙人房(一張大床)double room。當然 ，我們也可以說single room 單人間 a twin room 雙人房（兩張單人床） ，或者a suite 豪華套房

D: After that if they have a free room they may say: “No problem, so that’s a double room for 3 nights from October the 10th, is that correct?”

C: 最后 他們通常會再復述一遍你的要求, 這個時候要聽清楚是不是符合你剛才說的

D: at which point we could find out how much it’s going to cost.“That’s right, yes. How much would that be?” and they’d probably answer something like : “Our nightly rate for a double room is ￡45, so that would be ￡135 in total, and that includes tax.”

C:然后你可以說多少錢？通常他們會告訴你每晚的價格，然后會把加稅后的總價報給你
