Today we're going to talk about how to chat to a foreign friend.

首先來說說在英國認識新朋友往往在哪些情況下呢？

1. We can meet new friends in many places. Like at a friend’s house party, at a pub at your work place etc.

一般在英國我們會在派對，酒吧認識新朋友，工作學習等情況下認識新朋友

除了先介紹自己的名字之外。我們一般還需要說些什么暖和氣氛，讓彼此更快熟悉和放松呢？

2. We often make small talk first. For example what the weather's like, or news stories.

For example you could say, "Wow！It's been a particularly hot summer this year hasn't it?" or "it just never stops raining does it, haha!"

你可以從一些小話題開始，比如談論天氣或者新聞，你可以說：Wow it's been a particularly hot summer this year hasn't it?

"哇！今年的夏天真是熱啊，是吧？"你還可以說"it just never stops raining does it, haha!" 這雨咋老下個不停啊你說？

3. If you are a young lady talking to a new female friend, you might like to try using one often following topics:

Your favorite male star, compliment her clothes, ask what brand they are, tell her she has nice perfume, ask what sports/activities she likes to do.

如是你是女性對年輕的女士我們可以談論：你最喜歡的男星是誰？你的衣服真漂亮，什么牌子？哪兒買的？身上的香水真好聞，是什么？平時你喜歡做什么運動和活動嗎？

4. For example. You could begin "Hey I love your dress, what brand is it?" or you could try："What perfume are you wearing, it smells divine."

你可以說：嘿，你的裙子太漂亮了，什么牌子的？"Hey I love your dress, what brand is it?"

或者你還可以說："What perfume are you wearing？ it smells divine."

你用什么香水？真的很好聞

5. 然后你還可以談談你看過的電影，說說你的電影男神

Then after that maybe you could talk about a movie you've seen, and the hot male actor in it!

你可以說：Hey did you watch the new 3d Titanic？ I love Leonardo Di Caprio, his eyes are just dreamy!

嘿！你看了3D的泰坦尼克號了嗎？我愛死Leonardo了，他的眼神太醉人！

6. For a man talking to a new male friend he could try talking about the latest sports results, like football or basketball etc. Or ask what kind of music he listens to, what types of movies he likes.

如果你是男性和男性朋友交談你可以聊聊最近的體育比賽，比如足球或者籃球等等，或者問問他喜歡的音樂類型和電影

你可以這樣搭訕：

Hi there, how's it going?嘿，你好嗎？

Alright, you? 我很好，你呢？

Hey did you see the game at the weekend. Manchester United totally ruled" "You're not kidding, it was 5-1!

嘿，看了周末的比賽了嗎？曼聯(lián)勢不可擋啊！

You're not kidding, it was 5-1!是啊！絕對的！5比1啊！

7. 在這里還要友情提醒我們的小伙伴們，有哪些話題是一般情況下西方人不愿談起的，或者不是合適的話題呢？

It's best to avoid talking about politics or religion until you know someone well. Also wouldn't usually discuss money, eg salary at work.

關(guān)于政治、宗教這類的問題最好不要談起，特別是在剛認識的情況下，當然，關(guān)于錢財比如工資等個人隱私問題也最好不要聊起。不然會讓別人覺得很不舒服哦，剛剛認識最好說些笑話和輕松的話題.
