1.encounter v. 遇到，偶然碰到，遭遇

如：I encountered an old friend at Rome.
我在羅馬邂逅了一個(gè)老朋友。

One rainy night the policeman had a chance encounter with a gang of smugglers.
在一個(gè)雨夜，那個(gè)警察正巧碰上了一伙走私犯。

2.alphabetical adj. 按字母表順序的

如：You must arrange these books in alphabetical order.
你要把這些書(shū)按字母順序排好。

The words in the dictionary are arranged in alphabetical order.
詞典中的詞是按字母順序排列的。

3.reinforce vt. 加強(qiáng)，增援

如：This evidence reinforces my view that he is a spy.

Our defences must be reinforced against attack.
