一.Suspect:v.懷疑, 猜想 n.嫌疑犯 adj.可疑的, 不可信的
【詞義辨析】
doubt, suspect, distrust
這些動詞均含“懷疑”之意。
doubt普通用詞，多指因證據(jù)不足或僅憑證據(jù)還不能肯定而產(chǎn)生懷疑，多含否定意味。
suspect指猜疑、疑心，肯定意味較多。
distrust指疑惑、猜疑，不信任。
【例句用法】
He's a prime suspect in the murder case.
他是這次謀殺案的主要懷疑對象
They suspected an ambush.
他們懷疑有埋伏。
二.according to:prep.按照, 根據(jù), 取決于
【詞義辨析】
according as, according to
都是according+介詞的固定搭配。
according to表示“根據(jù)”、“按照”；according to 是介詞短語，其后接名詞。
The thermometer rises or falls according to the high or low temperature．
寒暑表根據(jù)氣溫的高低而升降。
according as表示“視乎”，有depending及according to whether的意味。According as是連詞詞組，其后接從句。
They will be praised or blamed according as their work is good or bad．
給他們的賞罰將視乎他們工作的好壞來決定。
【例句用法】
The books in the library were distributed according to subjects.
圖書館里的藏書按科目分類。
According to our records, the books you have borrowed should now be returned to the library.
根據(jù)我們的記錄，你借的書現(xiàn)在應(yīng)該還給圖書館了。
三.be interested in:對 ... 感興趣
ex.:Bob mentioned the class presidency to Ted as a trial balloon to see if Ted might be interested in running.
鮑勃向特德提到班主席職位以試探特德是否熱衷于參加其競選。
It occurs to me that he might be interested in the problem we had discussed.
我想起來了他也許對我們討論過的那個問題感興趣。
四.be good for:對 ... 有好處
ex.:Confessions may be good for the soul but they are bad for the reputation.
懺悔可能對靈魂有好處，但對聲譽(yù)則有損無益。
Do it up. It'll be good for you.
把它喝完，它對你有益。
