【詞義辨析】
kill, murder, slaughter, massacre, assassinate, execute
這些動詞均有“殺、殺死”之意。
kill普通用詞，含義廣泛，泛指以任何方式使人、動物或植物死亡。
murder指謀殺或兇殺。
slaughter本義指大批宰殺動物，也指像屠宰牲畜一樣一次殺死許多人。
massacre語氣比slaughter強。指大屠殺，尤指屠殺失去了自衛能力的人。
assassinate通常指因政治原因用非法手段殺害政治領袖人物或知名人士。
execute指依法處死罪犯。
【例句用法】
His parents and sister were all murdered by the terrorists.
他的父母和姐姐都是被恐怖分子殺害的。
That famous politician was murdered last year.
那位著名的政治家去年被謀殺了。
二.attention：n.注意, 注意力, 照料, 留心, 關懷, (口令)立正
【語法用法】
一般來說，要表達引起某人對某事的注意時，用call/draw one's attention to。表示用某事引起某人注意時，用bring the matter to one's attention，注意兩者不可倒過來使用。
He wants to call her attention to the matter.
他想引起她對這事情的注意。
不可以說I want to bring his attention to the matter.
pay attention to是固定的搭配詞組，不可以用其他介詞替換，如pay attention on。除了指“注意”，pay attention to還指“向女子獻殷勤”，如pay his attentions to the girl.要注意his后的attentions用的是復數形式；
有時候pay attention to后不直接加賓語，而是加動名詞，to作為介詞。
I advise you to pay more attention to recording new uses of old words.
我建議你要更注意記錄舊詞的新用法。
為引起大機關或大商店的某人或某部門注意，在寫信時可在稱呼語后面或后面的下一行或兩行加Attention of ...，如Attention of Accounting Department。

訂正: Focus is about drawing your attention to the business you run.
