【詞義辨析】
1.motion, move, movement,
motion: 指不處于靜止狀態而在移動的過程中，強調運動本身，而不涉及其動因。
move: 著重開始的行動或變化。
movement: 通常抽象地指有規則的動作或定向運動，特指政治性的運動。
2.move, shift, transfer, remove,
move: 普通用詞，指從一處到另一處的任何距離的轉移。
shift: 側重位置與方向的改變。
transfer: 一般表示轉送、移交或遷移，尤指交通運輸中的換乘或職務的調動等。
remove: 作“移動”解時，與move可換用，還可指撤職或開除學藉等。
3.touch, inspire, move,
touch: 主要用于表示憐憫或同情等場合，側重感動。
inspire: 指激起勇氣和信心，側重鼓勵，有時含“啟發靈感”之意。
move: 與touch可換用，但語氣強一些，運用范圍廣些。
【例句用法】

二.able：adj. 能夠的，有能力的，能干的
【詞義辨析】
able, capable, competent,
able: 最常用詞，多用于褒義，著重指多方面的，經常性的，或潛在性的能力。有時也指高超、非凡的能力。
capable: 語氣弱于able，指有能力、有潛力或有條件做某事，常與of連用。
competent: 強調具有能勝任某項工作的足夠技能或其它所需的條件。
【詞語用法】
able常以be able + 不定式的形式出現，與can 同義。
Some people are able to/can walk on their hands.
有些具體情況下只能用 be able，而不能用 can。
One day，scientists will be able to find a cure for cancer.
（NOT...will can find...)
后面的不定式通常不屬于被動語態。
The mistake is able to be corrected.
該句應改作The mistake is capable of being corrected.
指能力時，不一定意味著實行，如“經過了兩個月的步行，他們到達了目的地”通常不說 After a two-month tramp, they were able to reach their destination.而是用 After a two-month tramp they reached their destination。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：He told the Commons his objective was to ensure that the ceasefire was able to be turned into a permanent peace.
糾正：He told the Commons his objective was to ensure that the ceasefire could be turned into a permanent peace.
翻譯：他告知眾議院他的目標就是要確保停火能夠帶來永久的和平。
分析：有能力的，這個詞只能用于有生命的人，而?；穑╟easefire）停火不是人。
【例句用法】
1.Free will makes us able to choose our way of life.
自由的意志使我們可以選擇自己的生活方式。
2.By no means was he able to handle it.
這件事他絕對沒辦法處理。
3.She bet me 20 that I wouldn't be able to give up smoking.
她和我打20英鎊的賭，說我戒不了煙。
4.As I had plenty of money I was able to help her.
我錢很寬裕，能幫助她。
5.He is an able man.
他是一個能人。
