You know time is marching on when Katie Holmes, teenage soap opera superstar, is now playing the semi-creepy older woman in a romantic comedy with a nice bit of generational symmetry.

In one of a long line of film deals to come out of the Cannes Film Fest, The Hollywood Reporter relays that Holmes has signed on to star in "Responsible Adults," a film about a 30-year old who starts to date a younger guy -- a guy it turns out she babysat for in the past.

The lucky guy? That would be Chace Crawford, whose "Gossip Girl" has replaced Holmes' "Creek" as the go-to drama on the WB/CW Network. In real life, Holmes is 32-years old, while Crawford turns 26 in July.
