“加減乘除”你會(huì)了嗎？

又到上數(shù)學(xué)課的時(shí)候了。Cindy對這門課可不怎么擅長，因此常被老師提問、以督促學(xué)習(xí)。今天，老師把Cindy叫起來，問到：“How much is 9 minus 9?” Cindy想了半天也不知道是多少，只好說：“I don't know.”老師很生氣：“What a fool! You see, if I put nine coins in your pocket, but there is a hole in your pocket and all of them fall out, now what is left in your pocket?”Cindy回答到：“The hole.”哈哈！

挺好笑的笑話吧！不過，笑完了，呱呱要問你一個(gè)問題：加減乘除用英語都怎么說啊？我們剛剛講的笑話里就藏著一個(gè)呢！對啦，“減”就是minus，那么“加”怎么說呢？

Father: What is 4 plus 4?
Cindy: I don't know.
Father: You have four apples, and I will give you four more. Now how many apples do you have?
Cindy: I don't know. We usually use oranges in class.
哈哈！不管桔子還是蘋果，“加”都是plus!

乘呢，就是東西要加倍，英語里multiply 這個(gè)詞就是表示“乘”的。“除”就是要把東西分開，被幾除就是分成幾份，英語里就用divide 這個(gè)詞來表示。

Mother: How much is 4 multiplied by 4?
Cindy: 16!
Mother: How much is 8 divided by 2?
Cindy: 4!

哇！真是奇跡啊！Cindy雖然不怎么會(huì)加減法，乘法和除法還挺精通的嘛！
Cindy: I just found the keys on the math textbook!
