fail to do 沒有能夠做某事 He fail to swim across the river.
not fail to do sth 一定能做某事
I can not fail to pass it. 我一定會通過的。
You can not fail to obey it. 你一定會遵守。

★Text

If you park your car in the wrong place, a traffic policeman will
soon find it. You will be very lucky if he lets you go without a
ticket. However, this does not always happen. Traffic police are
sometimes very polite. During a holiday in Sweden, I found this
not on my car:‘sir, we welcome you to our city. This is a “No
parking” area. You will enjoy your stay here if you pay attention
to out street signs. This note is only a reminder.’If you receive a
request like this you cannot fail to obey it!

☆in the wrong place
wrong 不合適的
right 合適的 He is the wrong / right person who you are looking for .

☆however 然而
however 放在句首或句中都可以，經常用逗號隔開（轉折性語氣較弱）
but 習慣放在兩個句子之間（轉折性語氣較強）

★Key structures

☆條件句
真實條件句：假設很有可能發生
真實條件句中從句往往為現在時，主句中會用一般將來時用
使句
eg : If he is sleeping, don’t wake him up.
☆If 引導的叫條件，without 后面引導的也叫條件
Without + n. 如果沒有 起了條件的作用
Without water, fish can’t live.

★Special difficulties

☆Police 一定會作復數看待

☆Pay attention to ; care ; take care of ; look after
Pay attention to / notice 在思想上注意
Care 關心；在意
eg : I don’t care / Who care. 我不在乎。
take care of / look after 照顧，照料

☆remind ; remember
remind 提醒；提示
remind sb of sth
remind sb to do sth
remember 記住，記得
remember to do sth 記得去做某事
remenber doing sth 記得已經做了某事

補充
▲park:no parking area:禁止停車（標志）
▲traffic lights=crossing/turning:十字路口（聽力中常考）
▲note拼寫錯了：）
▲however在寫作中常用
▲sometimes：有幾次，有時，偶爾。（有人會把它理解為經常，其實不是，它的頻率并不高）
▲sir 直接稱呼的時候不和姓相連，mister的后面一定要加姓。
表示尊稱；可以不知道對方姓什么，只要知道對方是男性就可以，女性是madam
▲You will enjoy your stay here.(要求背過）
Enjoy your stay here.=Have a good time.
▲可以直接接人的動詞：
shock,surprise,amuse,please,worry
共同特征：和人的感覺相連
be worried about:為……擔心
My house worries me.我的房子讓我擔心。
