The Chinese release date for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1” has been pushed back to early next year. The film, which had its world premiere in London on Nov. 10, was originally scheduled to hit theaters in China on Friday, the same day as its premiere in several other countries, including the United States.
《饑餓游戲：嘲笑鳥》（上）在中國的上映時間已被推遲到了明年初。這部電影于11月10日在倫敦舉行了全球首映式，原定于本周五在中國上線，與美國等其他一些國家同步開畫。
It is unclear when it was decided to delay the release of the third installment of the franchise, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth in a dystopian tale of rebellion against a tyrannical state. But the original November release date appears to have been taken down from Chinese movie websites as early as October.

No official reason for the delay was announced, but The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources in the Chinese film industry, reported on Tuesday that the release was pushed back to balance domestic and foreign box office totals after “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” directed by Michael Bay, pulled in $301 million in mainland China following its June 2014 premiere.

Reached by email, a press officer for Lionsgate, the film’s production company, declined to comment. Last month, Lionsgate announced that members of the film’s cast and crew would travel to Beijing on Nov. 1 to start a world media tour, but that event was canceled.

In 2011, the mainland premieres of both “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” were pushed back by several weeks, apparently to clear the path for the sprawling propaganda epic “Beginning of the Great Revival,” which was made in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party.
